10.5.4 No Input Current from the Constant Current Regulator

a. Verify that CCR current is present, by opening the Electronics Enclosure, and inspecting the
power supply(s). The status LED on the power supply(s) should be lit or blinking. If not, see
Section 10.5.3, pg. 19, for other possible action steps.
b. Use a clamp on true RMS ammeter or equivalent on any of the 16 AWG power wires to
verify CCR current is supplied to power supply(s).
c. A loss of CCR current to the power supply(s) may be caused by damage to any or all of the
following electronics components:
o 16 AWG hook-up wires (inside electronics enclosure)
o EMI filter board (inside electronics enclosure)
o the power switch (optionally, inside the electronics enclosure)
o the input power cable
o isolation transformer
d. Once the current drop has been found, replace the faulty electrical component(s).
e. Repeat until all faulty electrical components have been replaced.
f. Return power to the sign. Verify that the sign illuminates.
g. If problem still persists see Section 10.5.3, pg. 19, for other possible action steps.
