GPIO CONNECTIONS
GPIO connectors provide logic inputs and outputs, which can be assigned to various functions from the Type R interface.
GPIOallowsconsolefunctionstotriggerexternaldevicese.g.faderstartsforplaybackdevices,andforexternaldevicestotrigger
consolefunctions,e.g.auto-fadescontrolledbyavideoswitcher.
ExternalGPIOinterfaces
TheUR6500TypeRCoreandtheAD6501,AD6502andJD6503I/OboxesarefittedwithGPIOcircuitsonRJ45typeconnectors
Theupperconnectorisa6inputoptoGPIconnector,whilstthelowerconnectorisa6outputoptoGPOconnector.

GPI(inputs)

EachGPIconnectorcarriessixGPIcircuitsbasedonasimpleopto-isolateddesign,capableofinterfacingwithanyDCsignalbetween
5Vand24V.
Eachinputisdesignedtobeactivesink(i.e.inputmustbegroundedorclosedtotriggerlogichigh).
ThreeGPIshareacommonpositiveinput(i.e.twocommoninputsintotalforsixGPI),whichmaybeprovidedfromanexternal
connection.

GPO(outputs)

EachGPOconnectorcarriessixGPOcircuitsbasedonasimpleopto-isolateddesign,witheachoutputcapableofinterfacingtoa
maximumvoltageof30Vandpassingamaximumcurrentof4mA.Notethereisonecommonconnectionforall6GPOand5Vis
providedontheconnectorforloopbackwhenalocalvoltagesourceisrequired.
