1. POWER UP THE CORE AND CONNECT A PC POWER CONNECTION TO CORE AND PC CONNECTION TO CORE SETUP PORT 1. Carefully remove the core and cable from their packaging. If there are any signs of damage, please contact Calrec Customer Support and do not continue.

Fader panels will show blank controls with “NoPath” on each of the lower displays. If any of the panels are displaying connection errors or “Looking for core” double check the ID matches the surface layout and the IP address is unique. In addition, the console panels are powered via PoE+ switches which are in turn, powered by AC-DC power supplies. The Cisco SG350-10MP switches supplied with the Type R system are capable of supplying up to 15.4W to each of their 8 Gigabit ports.
AUDIO I/O CONNECTIONS There are a number of ways to get Audio in and out of a Type R system. In addition to the audio I/O in the core, there are 3 optional I/O boxes carrying both Analogue inputs and outputs and AES digital inputs and outputs.
GPIO CONNECTIONS GPIO connectors provide logic inputs and outputs, which can be assigned to various functions from the Type R interface. GPIOallowsconsolefunctionstotriggerexternaldevicese.g.faderstartsforplaybackdevices,andforexternaldevicestotrigger consolefunctions,e.g.auto-fadescontrolledbyavideoswitcher.
