When a Message Is Displayed While Using the Fax Function
Condition
A network error occurred
while transferring the data.
Condition
Authentication failed when
user authentication is
enabled on the main-
machine, or the user does
not have permission to use
the fax function.
The machine is not
connected to the network.
Solution and reference
• Check that the machine is
connected to the network
correctly.
• Check that the sub-machine is
connected to the network and
functioning normally.
• Check that the IP address or
host name of the main-machine
is specified correctly in
[Settings] [Machine
Features Settings]
Settings] [Administrator
Tools] tab [Program/
Change/Delete Remote
Machine] on the sub-machine.
Solution and reference
Specify the same user authentication
setting as the main-machine, and
register a user who has the
permission to use the fax function.
