ASSEMBLY
1.
You may use the appliance with or without the legs.
2.
The legs are angled so that the area between the bottom of the legs is greater than the area between
the top of the legs.
3.
Align the holes in the legs with the holes at the corners of the shelf.
4.
Fit the screws through the legs, then through the shelf.
5.
Screw the butterfly nuts on to the ends of the screws, under the shelf.
6.
Push the tops of the legs into the feet underneath the base.
7.
You may find this easier if you turn the base upside down.
8.
Hold the nuts firmly, and tighten the screws with a screwdriver.
9.
Don't overtighten.
10. Fill the base with cold water to between the MIN (1.6 litres) and MAX (2 litres) marks.
11.
Put the reflector into the base.
12. Grip the heating/control unit.
13. Tilt it slightly, to raise its left side.
14. Introduce the guide in the base into the end of the slot in the right side of the heating/control unit.
15.
Lower the element towards the base, push the right support into the hole in the right of the base,
then push the left support into the hole on the left.
There are slots in the sides of the reflector to accommodate the support wire.
The control unit should now be fully supported by the base
The heating/control unit is fitted with a safety switch, to prevent the element operating unless the
heating/control unit is properly in place
Fit the grille at the height you want.
For maximum height, move it to your right, and hook the right edge of the feet over the right edge of
the mounts (#1).
For medium height, move it to your left, and hook the left edge of the feet over the left edge of the
mounts (#2).
For minimum height, centre each leg in its mount (#3).
The closer the food is to the element, the faster it will cook, but beware – it will also burn faster.
To use the griddle, remove the grille, and centre the griddle legs in the mounts.
PREHEAT
1.
Put the plug into the power socket.
2.
Set the temperature control to the required temperature (1-5).
3.
The light will come on, then cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains the temperature.
4.
Wait till the light goes out before cooking.
Cook meat, poultry, and derivatives (mince, burgers, etc.) till the juices run clear.
Cook fish till the flesh is opaque throughout.
Keep an eye on the water level, and top it up if it gets much below the bottom of the reflector
