Introduction
The PostBase franking machine needs a connection to the Francotyp-Postalia
server in order that it can download funds and data. To achieve this you will need
to connect the PostBase to a spare connection on your modem router using the
network cable provided. You can also connect it to a spare network port if your
business has one (be aware that you may have to check with your IT support that
the network port is live).
FP can also supply a WIFI adapter for your PostBase. If you have
purchased the WIFI adapter then please refer to the WIFI Configuration
Guide before continuing the PostBase installation.
Assembling your PostBase
Caution! When you move PostBase from a cold environment (i.e. below
10 °C / 50 °F): Unpack the PostBase and wait at least 2 hours before
connecting PostBase. PostBase requires this period to adapt to the ambient conditions.

Choose an installation site with the following
ambient conditions:
– room temperature: 15 °C to 35 °C
(59 °F to 95 °F)
– no direct sunlight
– power socket in the immediate vicinity
– network/modem router connection with internet
access
Place PostBase on a firm, level, low vibration and
horizontal base.
