Sets the service request enable

bit
or queries
the current
setting.
The
service request
enable
register
is
used
to select the
summary
messages
in the
status
byte register that will
be able
to
perform
service requests.
To
clear the service
request enable
register,
send
*SRE
0. If
the register
is
cleared,
service requests
cannot be generated by
status
information.

weighted decimal
notation
format
representing the status byte
register
and
the
MSS
message
(bit 6).
Therefore, the
response
to
*STB?
is
the
same
as the
response obtained
by
serial
polling except that
bit
5 represents the
MSS
mes-
sage
in
place of the
RQS
message.
