In addition to the tools you regularly use, you will need the following special tools to work on SARTORIUS PT...- 000V1 balances and GT...- G00V1 scales:...
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Startup Routine and Error Codes for MP 10.3 Balances Startup Routine After you have turned on the balance/scale by pressing the key, the microprocessor in the balance/scale will check some of the weighing functions. In succession, the following will be indicated in the display: - Display segments are lit up.
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Balance/Scale Operating Menu In the balance/scale operating menu, you can change individual code settings regarding the weight unit, balance/ scale response, display response, data output parameters and application parameters. For the factory-set menu codes, please refer to „Overview of the MP 10.3 Menu“ (see page 11).
Page 10
- Press the control to access the second level (function) of the balance/ scale operating menu. - The previously set code number for the function (identified by „o“) will now be displayed. - To increase the digit displayed for the function, press the key.
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Description of the Functions Operating Principle Balances/scales of the model series PT...-000V1 and GT...-G00V1 feature a weighing system that consists of a spring body with four strain gauges glued to the body. These strain gauges constitute a Wheatstone bridge which is supplied with a reference voltage of + 5 V.
Adjusting the Balance/Scale Before you begin the adjustment procedure, let the balance/scale warm up for at least 30 minutes, and run a function test. Important Note: The number(s) written next to the components, e.g., main PCB (118), refer to the exploded-view diagram on page 4. Adjustment Sequence Adjust the overload stops Adjust the zero point offset value...
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Accessing the Gross Value Mode For some adjustments, it is necessary to switch to the gross value mode. When the balance/scale is in this mode, the uncalculated A/D converter value (gross value) is indicated in the display.
Adjusting the Overload Stop Checking the Overload Stop - Open the balance/scale housing (see page 14). - Place the weighing pan (101) and, if applicable, the pan support (103) on the balance/scale. - Center the maximum load (e.g., PT6-000V1: 6 100 g) on the weighing pan;...
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Zero Point Offset Value It is necessary to adjust the zero point offset value to adapt the bridge voltage of the strain gauge system to the operating range of the electronic components in the balance/scale. This may be necessary if: - „L“...
Adjusting the Zero Point Offset Value - Open the balance/scale housing (see page 14). - Locate the position of balancing resistors R130 and R131 on the main PCB (118) (see „Overview of the Test Points“ on page 31). - Desolder balancing resistors R130 and R131. - Connect a resistor decade box to the main PCB (118) in place f resistor R130.
However, you can acquire this by attending our respective intensive service training course covering this topic. For more information, please contact SARTORIUS AG in Goettingen, Germany, or the SARTORIUS Training Center directly. Linearity Adjustment Procedure...

SARTORIUS Portable and Gold - Unload the balance/scale and tare. - Place the entire load (calibration weight value) on the balance/scale, and write down the value displayed. - Unload the balance/scale and tare. - Place one half of the load (½ calibration weight value), and write down the value displayed.
1. Calibrating in the Weighing Mode In this mode, calibration is performed in the same manner as for other SARTORIUS balances and scales. PT...- 000V1 balances and GT...- G00V1 scales accept only calibration weights that are within a tolerance range of 2% of the calibration weight value.
- Center the required weight on the weighing pan (101). - If the balance/scale accepts the weight, the „+“ sign displayed will go out. The „+“ and „–“ signs indicate that: „ + “ - the calibration weight loaded is too light „...

SARTORIUS Portable and Gold - The calibration weight value will be indicated in the display without a „+“ or „–“ sign or a weight unit symbol. - Center the required weight on the weighing pan (101). - Shortly thereafter, the IC107 microprocessor will accept the calibration weight value, and the „+“...
PCB (118) is equipped mainly with SMD components (Surface Mounted Devices). The SMD components cannot be exchanged without the use of special tools. As a convenient service to you, SARTORIUS will exchange any defective PCBs for an economical price.
SARTORIUS Portable and Gold - For removing the main PCB (118) from the circuit board retainer (116), pull it forward somewhat while simultaneously lifting the front slightly. - The main PCB (118) can then be removed from the receptacle (115).
Page 28
- Hold the strain gauge system (106) with one hand, and rotate the two system fastening screws (106.C) and remove them from the housing base (115). - Remove the old strain gauge system (106) from the housing base (115). - Place the new strain gauge system (106 in the housing base (115) and fasten it loosely with the screws.

SARTORIUS Portable and Gold Installing the Rechargeable Battery Pack YRB 01 PT - Disconnect the balance/scale from AC power. - Turn the balance/scale over and place it with the pan side facing downward on a padded surface. - Remove the screw (113.A) and remove the battery cover plate (113) from the housing base (115).
Page 36
- Replace the battery cover plate (113) on the housing base (115), and fasten it by tightening the screw (113.A). - Restore the balance/scale to the upright position. - The balance/scale is now ready to operate. Important Note After the battery has been installed, the balance/scale should remain plugged into a wall outlet for about 5 hours in order to recharge the battery.
