5.3 Protection against short circuit
The motor starter complies with type of coordination 1. Secure the feeder cable for the infeed
bus according to current rules for conductor protection, e.g. DIN VDE.
Hazardous Voltage at the Motor
Can Cause Death, Serious Injury, or Property Damage.
Following a short-circuit, the SIMATIC ET 200SP motor starter is defective. Replace the
motor starter following a short-circuit.

500 V AC infeed bus

Supply the main circuit of the SIMATIC ET 200SP motor starter via the BaseUnits with infeed
BU30-MS1 and BU30-MS2.
Observe the following general information concerning the infeed bus:
● The infeed bus is created by mounting several BaseUnits side-by-side.
● You can open load groups by connecting a 500 V infeed BaseUnit (BU30-MS1 or
BU30-MS2).
● The maximum current carrying capacity is 32 A at 50 °C and 500 V.
● You have the option of supplying the infeed bus with three phases via L1, L2 and L3 or
with one phase via L and N.
Form separate potential groups on the energy bus for single-phase (L, N, PE) and three-
phase (L1, L2, L3, PE) operation.
