Possible causes
Warped base body
When the L-406 is mounted
vertically: The load exceeds
the self-locking of the drive.
Increased wear due to small
motion over a long period of
time
Controller was replaced.
L-406 was replaced with
another model.
Controller not correctly
connected or defective.
Solution
Mount the L-406 onto a flat surface. The
recommended flatness of the surface is
≤ 10 µm.
Reduce the load. Make sure that the self-
locking (see specification of the holding
force in the data table (p. 43)) of the
drive is not exceeded.
Perform a maintenance run over the
entire travel range (p. 35).
Controller from PI:
Load the parameters from the positioner
database that correspond to the
combination of controller and L-406
model.
Controller from a third-party supplier:
Check the operating parameters.
Check all connecting cables.
Check the controller.
