15. Push chuck onto spindle taper, then use
a wood block and hammer or mallet to hit
chuck once with moderate force as shown in
Figure 9.
Note: Hitting chuck directly with a steel ham-
mer may damage chuck, making it unsafe to
use.

16. Attempt to separate spindle and chuck by
