Driving wheels

Fit and remove the driving wheels only
when the engine is switched off!
The driving wheels are equipped with a catch
spring (1). They can thus be fitted and adjusted
without tools.
The catch springs engage in an annular groove
in the wheel shaft, thus retaining the driving
wheel.
The wheel shaft has 2 annular grooves on both
sides. In the outer ring groove, the driving wheel
rotates on the wheel shaft in neutral gear. In the
inner annular groove, the driving wheel is en-
gaged in a toothing, and is thus connected to the
wheel shaft for driving.
Installing the driving wheels
Install the driving wheels with field tread
such that the tip of the tyre tread points in driving
direction (seen from above). This provides full
traction power.
Lift the catch spring (1) and put it down at
"assembly position" (Fig. J) (front annular
groove at the hub).
Fit the driving wheels onto the wheel shaft
with the catch spring side pointing outwards.
Return the catch spring to the engaged
position (Fig. K or L) and let it engage into
an annular groove on the wheel shaft.
Coat both sides of the wheel shaft ends
(small shaft diameter) with organic lubricat-
ing grease.
To remove the driving wheels, proceed in re-
verse order.
