DURING OPERATION

Engaging the Blade

Always make sure the throttle control lever (1) is in
the fast position. With the BBC latch button (2) fi rmly
pressed, pull the BBC control lever (3) back against the
handle and hold in position to engage the blade.

Disengaging the Blade

Release the BBC control lever (1) and it will return to its
rest position.

IMPORTANT: When you release the BBC control lever,
the blade should stop within 3 seconds. If it doesn't,
stop using your mower immediately and contact a
Hayter Authorised Service Dealer.

Trim Side Cutting

Incorporation of a Trim Side allows you to cut right
to the edge. This is ideal for mowing around borders,
raised fl ower beds and retaining walls.

Vari-Pitch™ Cutting Technology
Vari-Pitch™ cutting technology automatically adjusts
the cutter deck height at the rear of the mower, to
increase air fl ow when cutting longer grass.

Heavy Growth

Areas of heavy growth should be mown without
collecting the clippings. Refer to Mowing without the
Grass Bag.
If collection is required, fi rst mow the area without the
grass bag, at the maximum height of cut setting. Allow
the grass clippings to dry out and then mow the area
at the maximum height of cut setting with the grass
bag fi tted. Refer to Adjusting the Cutting Height.
Reduce the height of cut and mow the area again as
necessary until the required fi nish is obtained.
To prevent damage to your lawn do not remove more
than one third of grass height in one cut.
