Converting some or all ATM port networks to IP-PNC
If you are converting the PN that contains the synchronization source, complete the following
steps to remove or change the synchronization source.
1. At the SAT, enter change synchronization atm.
2. Perform one of the following actions to remove or change the synchronization source:
If you are converting all PNs to IP-PNC, type blanks in the Primary and Secondary
fields.
If you are converting only one of the ATM PNs to IP-PNC, and if some PNs remain
connected the ATM, enter new circuit pack locations in the Primary and, optionally, the
Secondary fields.
Obtain these locations from the list of "Circuit Packs Available for Synchronization" below
the Primary and Secondary fields. If you enter both primary and secondary
synchronization sources, both locations must be from the same PN. Ensure that you
select working sync sources from a PN that is not being converted to IP-PNC.
3. Click Submit.
4. Verify that the synchronization sources are updated correctly:
5. Perform one of the following actions:
a. If you are converting all PNs to IP-PNC and have blanked out the Primary and
Secondary fields, enter list synchronization. Verify that the Primary and
Secondary fields for ATM are blank. Then continue with
page 1123.
If some PNs remain fiber-connected, complete the following steps:
a. Enter list synchronization.
b. On the Synchronization Plan screen, note the Primary and the Secondary locations.
c. Enter status synchronization.
