The operating firmware for the printer is stored in Flash memory on the Main PCB. When firmware is
updated and/or new features are added, they can be downloaded to the printer as follows:
1. Identify the new version for your model of printer from our website at
www.datamax-oneil.com and download it onto your computer's hard drive.
2. Ensure that the printer is connected to the host via the serial port and that the
power is 'OFF.' Locate the "FlashUp.exe" file and launch the application.
3. When prompted, turn the printer 'ON'. The application will automatically start
downloading the new firmware. This process will take several minutes.
4. When completed, a green checkmark will appear. Click the 'Close' button, the
application will close and then printer will restart and be ready for use.
