The ECS feature card contains a switch module
and may contain a pluggable ROS character
generator. Verify the switch settings as follows
when exchanging this card. See Fig. 4.7 for
Switch, ROS, and RAM Locations.
Switch Settings.
1. Set to 1 if any ROS present on ECS card.

5 - 6 - 7 - 8. (ID for ECS Card RSS)
0000 for APL!TEXT ROS.
1111 for Indicator ROS.
Note: The APL!Text ROS module may be present
if the APL!Text feature has been removed via MES.
In this case set switches for ROS indicator.
CAUTION
The ROS module can be damaged by static
discharge when not plugged in a card. Persons
handling this module must first make hand contact
to the conductive foam in which the module is
packed. Hand contact must also· be made to a
conductive surface of the card before plugging in
this module.
