Preface
This publication contains the information needed to
service and maintain the IBM 3278 Display Station
Models 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Part numbers for the
usually needed field replaceable units (FRUsI are
given in Chapter 4; keyboard assembly FRUs are
given in paragraph 6.7 (Chapter 61. Additional in-
formation on the ordering of parts is contained in
the IBM 3278 Display Station Parts Catalog, order
number S126-0020.
Organization
This publication has seven chapters:
• Chapter 1 is a brief introduction to the 3278
and to the maintenance plan for the 3278.
• Chapter 2 contains the maintenance analysis pro-
cedures (MAPs).
• Chapters 3 through 7 contain reference material
that supports the MAPs.
Appendix A, Glossary, defines terms used in this
publication.
Starting Point
The starting point for all failure isolation on the
3278 is MAP 00, Start/Restart MAP.
