Firmware Update
There are two ways to update the firmware of OSM MM8003.
⚫
Device Firmware Update (DFU) through mCube OSM Toolbox with USB connection.
⚫
Over-The-Air (OTA) through mCube OSM APP.
The User can choose one of them based on different host devices.
Note: During DFU or OTA processes, user needs to ensure the USB cable is always
connected to the MM8003. An improper updating process may damage the MM8003. Please
contact mCube for technical support.
5.1 Device Firmware Update (DFU)
The following section describes how to update MM8003 firmware using computer through
mCube OSM Toolbox.
Step 1. Download the latest firmware (.bin) from mCube website mentioned in
Downloads.
Step 2. Open the DFU function in the mCube OSM toolbox by clicking 'Utilities -> Device
Firmware Update'.
Step 3. Select the downloaded firmware file.
Step 4. Select the OSM COM port. Click on 'Search Port' if COM port for OSM is not shown.
Step 5. Disconnect the USB cable to power down MM8003.
Step 6. Hold the white button on the MM8003 and reconnect the USB cable to power on
MM8003. Now, the MM8003 is in bootloader mode and waits to load the new firmware.
Note: Bootloader timeout is 15 seconds. User must complete Step 7 during this period.
Step 7. Click on "Connect" to start the update. The update is complete when progress bar
reaches 100%.
