2. If you see the following message:
Warning: Translation corruption detected
then follow the normal escalation procedure for translation corruption before you continue
the upgrade.

Resolving alarms

To clear alarms:
1. Use the System Management Interface (SMI) (formerly known as Maintenance Web
Interface). Under Alarms, click Current Alarms to examine the alarm log.
2. Select the server alarms that you want to clear and click Clear, or click Clear All.
3. Resolve or clear Communication Manager alarms with SAT commands and the
Maintenance Commands Reference and Alarms Maintenance books.

Backing up files on the active server

To back up the translations and system configuration files on the active server:
1. Under Data Backup/Restore, click Backup Now
2. Select the data sets, including:
- Avaya Call Processing (ACP) translations, select Save ACP translations prior to backup
- Sever and System Files
- Security Files

Important:
If this server is an ESS, select Do NOT save ACP translations prior to backup. If

this server is a main server, select Save ACP translations prior to backup. You
may select Full Backup if a save translations was performed just prior to this
backup.
3. Select the backup method
4. Click Start Backup to start the back up process. Wait until the backup is complete.
