3. Welding
must
be performed
by
a qualified
welder
only,
using the following
procedure:
a.
Disassemble
the
outer
channel
from
the
mast
prior
to
welding.
See the Triple
Lift
Viewmast
I I Service
Manual,
Form
5140,
or
the
Quad
Lift
Viewmast
II
Service
Manual,
Form
5213,
for disassembly
procedures.
b.
Clamp
the
welding
ground
to the
outer
channel
cross-
member,
See Figure
2.
WARNING:
C. Use E7018
low hydrogen
rod.
d.
Preheat
to 200"
F., and maintain
this temperature
during
welding.
After
welding,
allow
to slow cool.

4. The measurements
shown
in Figure
3 should
be taken
after
welding
and
cooling
the
mast.
These
dimensions
ensure
that
the mast uprights
will slide together
easily.
DO NOT WELD
THESE
AREAS.
HORIZONTAL
