Connecting the Battery

WARNING!
The battery must be powered off before and during wiring.
To power off the battery:
1. Turn off the circuit breaker.
2. Turn off the disconnect/auxiliary power switch.
To power the battery back on:
1. Turn on the disconnect/auxiliary power switch.
2. Turn on the circuit breaker.
For details, see Powering the LG Chem Battery Off and On on page 73.
Use the following cable types:
For communication - a 5-wire shielded twisted pair cable, 0.2 (0.2-1) mm², 600V
insulated or CAT5
For DC power - a pair of PV DC cables, 6 (4-6) mm
connectors at one end
To connect the battery and the StorEdge Interface:
1. Connect one end of the communication cable to the battery, as explained in the
manual that comes with the battery.
2. Pass the other end of the communication cable through the inverter's open
communication gland.
3. Twist the communication cable wires of the battery and Energy Meter together (B
with B, A with A, G with G).
4. Disconnect the RS485 connector from the communication board and release the
screws of pin holes 4-7 (RS485-2).
