Electronic micromotors generate much more energy than conventional pneumatic turbines and motors. Given the higher torque and speed, hand‐ pieces that are poorly serviced, damaged or used improperly can overheat which can seriously burn the patient.

Damage to the chucking system. ▶ Never push the push-button when the tool is rotating! ▶ After the tool has stopped rotating, press the push-button down with your thumb and simultaneously remove the tool.
