6.6) Shielding gas

The shielding gas nature depends on the projected application; Table 6.3 lists the gases normally used
according to the nature of the metal to be welded.

* The gas should be specified according to the wire composition.
Connect the shielding gas hose in the cylinder pressure regulator outlet or of the internal mains distribution.

6.7)Wire

1) Place the wire bobbin in the lock cylinder so that it turns clockwise when the wire advances into the
welding gun and lock it; the carryover pin of the lock cylinder should fit in the smaller eccentric hole, of the
reel.
2) Turn of the "ON/OFF" switch of the assembly. This procedure prevents the wire from moving and from
being under electric voltage in case the gun welding trigger is activated by accident, which could cause
some electric arc.
3) Trim the free wire tip so that it does not show any chips or bezel and that it can not cut the operator or
damage the internal guide of the welding pistol.
4) Open the pressure arm of the wire speed mechanism.Take the wire tip manually through the inlet guide of
the wire feed mechanism on the feed roller "useful" groove and into the gun conduit. 5) Close the pressure
arm.
6) Turn ON the "ON/OFF" switch of the assembly to energize it; activate the manual switch to take the free
wire tip up to the welding gun output through the contact tip.
NOTE: The braking applied on the wire bobbin should be just enough so that it
can turn freely by inertia when the wire advance motor stops. Turns the
adjusting screw clockwise to increase the braking and anti-clockwise to
decrease it.
For a smooth wire advance is important that it is kept clean and that the feed
roller and the welding pistol conduit are cleaned regularly.
