2.1.1 Anti-static Precautions WARNING: Failure to take ESD precautions during the installation of the HDC-701EL may result in permanent damage to the capture card and severe injury to the user. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components, including the video/audio capture card.
If some of the components listed in the checklist below are missing, please do not proceed with the installation. Contact the IEI reseller or vendor you purchased the HDC-701EL from or contact an IEI sales representative directly. To contact an IEI sales representative, please send an email to sales@ieiworld.com.
This helps to prevent potential ESD damage. Turn all power to the HDC-701EL off: When working with the HDC-701EL, make sure that it is disconnected from all power supplies and that no electricity is being fed into the system.
Allow screws to come in contact with the PCB circuit, connector pins, or its components. 2.3 Video/Audio Capture Card Installation The HDC-701EL video/audio capture card has a PCIe x1 interface. To install the HDC-701EL, please follow the steps below: Step 1: Align the PCIe edge connector on the bottom of the video/audio capture card with the PCIe x1 slot on the system motherboard.
HDC-701EL Video/Audio Capture Card 2.4 Devices Installation The HDC-701EL equips with one DVI input connector and one DP input connector that allow video input sources with DVI or DP (DisplayPort) interfaces to be connected to the HDC-701EL. For the video output, the HDC-701EL allows HDMI display device to be connected to the HDMI output connector.
However, to ensure the system is able to detect the different cards, each card must be assigned a unique ID. The unique ID is assigned using the ID setting switch on each HDC-701EL capture card. The ID number of the capture card is shown on the ID LED screen.

Ensure to complete the hardware installation and software installation described in the previous sections. Step 2: If the IEI HD Capture AP is installed to the computer, an HDC-701EL icon (Figure 3-14) should appear on the Windows desktop. Double click the icon to launch the application.

HDC-701EL Video/Audio Capture Card 3.2.2 Configuring the Video Capturing Properties Click the Scaler button on the IEI HD Capture AP user interface (Figure 3-14) to bring up the Scaler Utility window (Figure 3-17) where the users can configure the video capturing properties, such as the color temperature, brightness, hue, saturation, etc.
HDC-701EL Video/Audio Capture Card 3.2.2.1 Input Source Click Input source to display the Input Source menu (Figure 3-18). In this menu, the users can select the input source and set the brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, sharpness, image mode and color temperature.

Where are the AP & SDK & sample code? AP & SDK & sample code are in the folder which you specify when installing AP. The default path is C:\Program Files\HDC-701EL. The capture cards have the same COM port number when installing multiple capture cards in my computer.
