Remote control of the MFD

Remote control options

Ú Note:
This unit does not have an internal WiFi module. To connect to the internet or the
Link app you must have a compatible external WiFi module connected to the same
Ethernet network as this unit.
The following options are available for remotely controlling your MFD:
a smartphone or a tablet, connected to the same external WiFi module as the MFD
a compatible remote control unit connected to the same NMEA network as the MFD. The
documentation included with the remote control unit provides connection and usage
information.
Ú Note:
For safety reasons, some functions cannot be controlled from a remote unit.

Smartphones and tablets

The Link app
The Link app must be used to connect a phone or tablet to the MFD.
When connected, the Link app on the phone or tablet can be used to:
Remotely view and control the system
Back-up and restore settings
Back-up and restore waypoints, routes and tracks
The Link app can be downloaded from the relevant phone/tablet application store.
Connecting to the external WiFi module acting as an access point
If your unit is connected to an external WiFi network, you can connect your phone/tablet to
the same network to view and control the MFD.
The external WiFi network name (SSID) will be displayed as an available network in the
phone/tablet.
Using the Link app
Start the Link app to display MFD(s) available for remote control. The list includes both
connected and not connected MFDs.
Select the MFD you want to control. If the MFD is not connected, follow the instructions on
the MFD and on the table/phone to connect.
