6 COMPONENTS

6.10 Ignition Module

Depending on the model, you will find a 4-spark, a 6-spark, or both types of ignition modules
installed in the Right Leg of the broiler. When energized, the module sparks continuously until
flame is sensed.
6.10.1 Specification
Spark voltage for each output/electrode: 25kV.
Electrode gap distance: min 0.125in (1/8in), max 0.160in (5/32in).
Flame-sensing technique: flame-rectification.
6.10.2 Evaluation
Refer to section "5.2 Troubleshooting Flowchart".
6.10.3 Remove or Install an Ignition Module
WARNING
Disconnect power supply to the unit and allow the unit to cool down.
To remove or install a module:
1.
WARNING: Disconnect power supply to the unit and allow the unit to cool down.
2. Remove the RIGHT Side Leg Panel (see section 6.3).

Ensure you pull out the panel slowly to avoid disconnecting any wiring accidentally.

Note wire numbers and location before removing all wire connections from the module,
or refer to the wiring diagram.
4. The module is mounted onto a bracket. To separate the bracket from the frame, loosen the
screws on inner side of the right leg.
5. Dismount the module from the bracket.
6. Replace module and reassemble in reverse order.

Ensure the connections between the male and female connectors are secured to the main
power line at the back (see "4.3 Major Components Illustrated").

To avoid pinching the wires, tuck the wires safely away before sliding back the Leg Panel.
