If the gap between the thermostat arm and the retainer is .000-.050" (.00-1.27 mm), the setting is
correct. Actuate the choke lever to ensure freedom of movement with no binding. Correct as
necessary. Go to step 3.
If the gap between the thermostat arm and the retainer exceeds .050" (1.27 mm), adjust the
thermostat arm as follows:
a. Using a tang bender or similar tool, carefully bend the thermostat base (circle, Figure 2) until
