5.3 Air filter

5.3.1 To disassemble the Air filter

1. Remove the nut (A).
2. Remove the seals (B and C).
3. Remove the air filter cover (D).
4. Remove the seals (E and F).
5. Remove the M8 nut (G).
6. Remove the washer (H).
7. Remove the bush (I).
8. Remove the filters (J and K).
9. Remove the seal (L).
10. Remove the M6 nut (M) and M6 bolt (N) from the

housing (O).
11. Remove the gasket (P) from the pipe intake (Q).
12. Remove the gasket (R).
Note: Operating the engine without an air filter, or with
a damaged air filter, will allow dirt to enter the engine,
causing rapid engine wear
5.3.2 To clean and examine the Air filter
A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance.
Blow air through the filters (J and K) using 0.29 - 0.49
MPa (3.0 - 5.0 kgf/cm
the lowest possible air pressure to remove the dust with-
out damaging the filters.
5.3.3 To assemble the Air filter
Assemble the air filter in the opposite sequence.
