5.6.1 To disassemble the Starter

1. Remove the M6 bolts (A) from the starter case (B)
and remove the starter assembly.
2. Remove the M8 nut (C) and the washer (D).
3. Remove the friction reel (E).
4. Remove the cover (F)
5. Remove the return spring (G), the ratchets (I) and
the compressed spring (H).
6. Remove the reel (J) and the spring (K).
5.6.2 To clean and examine the Starter
Clean the parts. Replace parts if they are damaged.
5.6.3 To assemble the Starter
Assemble the starter in the opposite sequence.
