Backing plate kit

Note: This kit must be installed or serviced by a qualified installer, service agency or gas supplier.

These instructions are to be used in conjunction with the main installation instructions for the 1200.

NOTE: To install this backing plate, the surface of the finished hearth or floor must be at the

same level as the bottom of the heater. Please be aware that the backing plate mounting can

ONLY accommodate 1/2" wall thickness.

The 1240BPK Backing Plate Kit can be installed on

the 1200 engine once the wall finish is completed.

Installation

Remove the 6 screws retaining the thin black metal strips to the top and sides of the fireplace opening as shown.

Remove the strips and discard them as they are not needed for this installation.

Slide the backing plate on the fireplace and fix it with 2 screws at the top and 2 screws at the bottom on each

side as shown.
