Note: The communication converter is delivered with the jumper settings "X.21"
and "64 kBit/s".
Open the communication converter
Disconnect the auxiliary supply voltage from both poles.
Open the communication converter. To open the device, you must undo all six cover
screws with a screwdriver.
Configuring the communication converter
The communication converter is configured via jumpers. The slots of the jumpers can be
seen in Figure 19. The factory setting is shown.
Selecting the interface:
Set the jumper X30 in accordance with the interface type selected for communication:
X30 in position 1–2
X30 in position 2–3
Selecting the transmission speed:
With the jumpers for X20, X22, X24 and X26, set the transmission speed necessary for
communication (see table 2). Only one slot can be occupied at any one time.
Note: In the operating mode G.703.1, the jumper must be set to X20, since there is only
one transmission rate for it (64 kBit/s). The transmission rate parameterized in the
protection device for the active interface and the corresponding jumper position
have to correspond to each other.

cessary to isolate it from the auxiliary supply voltage at all poles!
