Connect a solid low-resistance and low-inductivity grounding with at least one M4 screw.
Suitable are grounding straps DIN 72333 form A. Connect the strap to the protective
ground of the switchgear panel or cubicle.
When using the X.21–interface:
Insert the cable with the socket into the DSUB–connector X.21 of the communication
converter. In the figure 14 you can see where the interface connector is located. The
figure 17 shows the connection assignment on the DEE connection of the communi-

Insert the other end of the cable into the communication device you have selected.
It is essential to ensure that the wiring between the interfaces is correct.
When using the G.703.1 –interface:
With a screwdriver, connect the two core pair ends to the connection G.703 of the
communication converter. Connect the remaining conductor (shield) to terminal 'S' of
the connection.
It is essential to ensure that the wiring between the interfaces is correct.
Connect the transmission line of your protection device to the reception connection of the
communication converter. Connect the second connection, the reception interface of your
protection device, to the transmission connection of the communication converter.
With a screwdriver, connect the cables of the auxiliary voltage at your disposal to the
communication converter. Ensure that the cable is fitted correctly.
The alarm relay (DR) contact can be connected as a NO contact or as a NC contact. The
