Standalone Dispense Valve Cleaning
Clean the Dispense Valve
WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to
perform the following tasks. Follow the safety
instructions in this document and all other
related documentation.
Relieve air and material pressure from the
system. Failure to observe this warning may
result in serious injury or death.
1. See Figure 1. Remove the screws (1) securing the
air cylinder cap (2) to the body (6).
2. Remove the spring (3) from the piston (4).
CAUTION: To prevent damage, use extreme
care when prying the packing cartridge (5) and
piston/stem assembly (4) out of the body (6).
Do not remove the piston/stem assembly (4)
from the packing cartridge (5). Remove these
parts as an assembly to prevent damage to the
cartridge seal.
3. Use a small screwdriver to pry the piston stem
assembly (4) and packing cartridge (5) out of the
body (6).
4. Remove the nozzle (7) from the body (6).
5. Clean the body (6) and nozzle (7) using a compatible
solvent. Make sure that

the passage where the nozzle (7) connects to
the body (6) is clean and free from debris.

after cleaning the nozzle (7), the needle guide (8)
is still installed in the correct position.
6. Inspect the piston (4), cartridge retainer (5) and
body (6) for wear or damage. Replace parts if
necessary.
7. Apply Mobil SHC 100 grease to the o-ring on the
packing cartridge (5) and the seal ring on the
piston/stem assembly (4). Install the packing
cartridge and piston stem assembly into the body (6).
8. Install the spring (3) onto the top of the piston (4).
9. Apply Loctite 242 to the threads of the screws (1).
Install the air cylinder cap (2) using the screws.
Tighten the screws to 54 in.-lb (6 Nm).
10. Install the nozzle (7) onto the body (6) and tighten
securely.
