5. Cleaning, transport and storage
5.1
Cleaning and care prior to initial use and before and after each use
Basically face shields are to be handled carefully.
Â
Soiled face shields must be cleaned using a lint-free, damp cloth (warm tap water) before and after
Â
each use. If heavily soiled, mild soap may be used. Commercially available solvents or organic com-
pounds are not allowed as they might moisten the surface and reduce material tension.
Safety helmets and face shields may only be used in a clean and dry state.
Â
5.2
Transport and storage
Face shields must be transported and stored so that their performance is not compromised.
5.2.1 Transport
Face shields should be ideally transported in an appropriate storage bag.
5.2.2 Storage
Store the equipment in closed rooms or vehicles in a suitable box or container.
Â
Storage temperature: +5°C to +30°C
Â
No direct sunlight or heat source.
Â
Avoid compression.
Â
5.2.3 Protection against UV radiation
Some plastics are sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, equipment should not be overexposed to
direct sunlight.
