Setting
Up
the Software Data Calls
Terminal Type
The Terminal Type: field offers four selections for
setting up the kind of terminal to be emulated.
Select one of the following:
o
VT100 sets up a terminal mode compatible with
the DEC VT-100 terminal.
Use this setting
when you communicate with a host computer
that is set up to support DEC VT-100 series
terminals.
o
513BCT sets up a terminal mode compatible
with the AT&T 513 BCT terminal.
Use this
setting when you communicate with host
computers, such as the AT&T 3B2, that use the
513 BCT terminal.
513BCT is the default
selection.
o
UNIXPC is used to log into other UNIX PCs.
It provides support for all of the Office
features and capabilities.
o
REMOTE is used to place a data call from a
remote terminal.
Refer to the AT&T UNIX PC
Remote Access User's Guide for the procedures
for placing a data call remotely.
Note that
any data call placed from a remote terminal
uses REMOTE as the terminal type, even if you
do not select it in this field.
The terminal control sequences supported by the VT-100
and 513BCT selections are listed in Appendix A.
The
UNIX PC keyboard codes and control sequences are
described in the AT&T UNIX® PC UNIX System
V
User's
Manual under kbd(7) and escape (7) .
