A bit is represented by the
binary number system (a's and l's),
and is the smallest unit of
information used by a computer.
Bits per second.
A screen that displays up to 15 names
and telephone numbers when Telephone
Manager is opened.
A letter, number, or symbol.
An
instruction that tells the
computer to perform a function or
carry out an activity.
The physical means of connecting one
location to another for transmitting
and receiving data.
A machine that processes information
by accepting data, performing
operations on the data, and supplying
the results of these operations.
The way the computer is set up to
allow for particular uses or
situations.
For example, you
configure the UNIX PC to work with
your particular model of printer.
An
ASCII character that affects the
way data is processed or displayed.
