Aeraulic connections

The connection to the air suction, expulsion and delivery opening ducts of the UTA must be carried out with the interposition of vibration-
damping joints.
The interruption of the possible vibrations that can be transmitted between UTA and ducts can be carried out only if the rubber cloth that
builds up the joint is not too stretched.
The electric equipotentiality between duct and UTA must be ensured by means of a grounding cable operating as bridge on the vibration-
damping joint.
Carry out the connection:
- applying an air seal to the joint flanges.
- tightening the bolts appropriately, even if in difficult position.
- applying silicon putty for a perfect sealing of any fissure.
Electric connections
Generalities
TITAN
For the
air handling unit not provided with electric panel or supplied with a separate
electric panel, the Customer must carry out the panel drilling, apply the fairleads and carry out the
connection of the terminal boxes of the motors making use of electric cables dimensioned according
to their length and on the basis of the values of absorbed power, absorbed current and peak
indicated on the motor plate or on the electric diagram supplied with the panel.
The single-pole motors with power equal to or higher than 7.5 kW must be
always started with star-triangle connection.
For the UTAs provided with electric panel already applied to them, the connections to the internal
terminal boxes of the motors have been already carried out.
In this case the Customer must only carry out the connection of the power line with the general
switch and door lock of the panel according to the procedures described on the electric diagram.
It is absolutely important that he connection to the equipotential network of the ground is carried out
with the appropriate care, making use of cables of appropriate section and quality, if possible routed
together with the power supply cables.

Connections to heat exchange batteries

Water batteries

The batteries fed with chilled, hot or overheated water and the heat recovery batteries must have hydraulic
connections as indicated by the inlet and outlet plates positioned next to the couplings.
Anyway, always check that the heat exchange with air is carried out
order to get the maximum thermal efficiency.
For every battery, foresee an air vent positioned at the highest point and a drain for
its draining at the lowest point of its circuit.
Never choose the dimensions of the connection pipelines according
to the coupling diameter
standardization needs and not calculated in function of the thermal carrier fluid flow-rate.
In case of feeding with high-temperature water, in order to avoid to damage some internal
components, we suggest to foresee a safety system on the outlet air that, in case of its
excessive heating (beyond 60°C), cut off the fluid before entering the battery.
This excessive air heating can be generated by an anomalous reduction of the flow-rate
caused by an accidental closing of a gate, by the excessive clogging of filters , by the
loosening of the motor driving belt, etc.
The entering fluid must be always cut off when the fan stops working.
The cooling batteries are positioned in collection basins provided with drain that shall be provided with appropriate drain-traps described
below.
