About drive monitoring
You can use the LEDs on the front of each disk drive and the alarms and events in the hypervisor
management interface to monitor drive health and status.
A UCS C240 M4SX server includes the following drives that you access from the front panel:
■ Small, All Flash system
Chapter 4: Server troubleshooting
LED
State
Flashing Green—Server
initialization and memory check.
Steady Amber—Degraded state on
a component, such as:
■ No power supply redundancy.
■ Mismatched CPU.
■ Faulty CPU.
■ Faulty DIMM.
■ RAID error.
Flashing Amber—Critical error
state, such as:
■ Failed boot failed.
■ Fatal CPU error.
■ Fatal BUS error.
■ Over temperature.
Off—Identification button not
pressed.
Steady Blue—Identification button
pressed. An LED glows at the front
and rear of the enclosure.
Off—AC power is not detected.
Steady Amber—Standby power
mode. Power is detected and
supplied only to the CIMC and
some mainboard functions.
Steady Green—Power on.
