console. You can use this remote
connection for operations such as
booting, configuration, and server
troubleshooting.

Port for a local (KVM) console
connection
The server also provides a dedicated console port for local KVM connections located on the front of the
enclosure.
Configure the CIMC port for remote management
Before you begin
You have the following:
■ A keyboard, monitor, and mouse.
■ A static IP address dedicated to the Cisco Integrated Management Controller (CIMC).
■ A subnet mask and gateway IP address for the CIMC network.
■ KVM console adapter cable (image below).
Chapter 3: About UCS server management
Connection
Use an RJ-45 Ethernet Cable to
connect this port to a switch in your
network.
■ Serial Port (RJ-45): Alternate laptop
serial connection.
■ USB: Keyboard.
VGA video port (DB-15).
