5.1 Configuring guardian
Site supervision security is guaranteed by guardian, which works in tandem with boss and ensures correct
operation.
Specifically, it uses privileged notification channels to warn whether all set peripherals are on and if the PC is
under conditions of stress by default. When appropriately set it can also warn whether certain alarms were
recognised within a certain time period or if certain variables changed in a certain period of time.
Warning: the message area shows a notification
requiring the engine to be restarted and the direct
command to do so. This means boss needs to be
restarted to make the changes effective
1.
Under Configuration
guardian click Enable notifications and select
the recipients for the notifications from the table
2.
Click Save.
3.
As an optional configuration, control of active
alarms and Verify probe verification can also be
enabled.
Note: the guardian signals should be enabled on
all available notification channels.
Note: to configure the active alarm control criteria,
under Configuration
safety choose, for each alarm priority, whether the
alarms can be acknowledged by users with suitable
authorisation, how long the alarms remain active
(without being reset and acknowledged) before
guardian sends a signal.
Note: if guardian is not configured (see the
previous steps in this procedure), it will be activated
with the default configuration.
4.
Restart the engine.
