Recipes for Biscuits
Biscuits (Basic Recipe)
Ingredients:
150 g softened butter
150 g caster sugar
2 small eggs, beaten
300 g plain flour, sieved
Preparation:
Prepare the biscuit recipe and chill in the fridge to allow the mix to firm.
Use small eggs otherwise the mix will be too soft.
Cream the butter and the sugar in the bowl using the flat beater until the
mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, and then fold in the sifted flour.
Pass the mixture through the cookie shaper, having selected the desired
shape and cut into suitable lengths. Place the biscuits onto a greased
baking sheet and bake in the centre of a hot oven at 190° C, gas mark
5 for approx. 10 minutes or until cooked. Cool the biscuits on a wire rack.
After the biscuits have cooled, they can be decorated by dipping in melted
chocolate or dusted with icing sugar.
Chocolate Biscuits
Ingredients:
125 g softened butter
200 g caster sugar
2 small eggs, beaten
250 g plain flour, sieved
25 g cocoa powder, sieved
