5.3 Adjusting the steering bow

Note
The steering bow has three positions.
The steering bow can be adjusted to the height of
the operator by using the bore holes (2), (3) and
(4) (Fig. 11):
(2) lowest position
(3) middle position
(4) highest position
Loosen the screws (1) on both sides
l
Loosen the screws (4) on both sides and pull
l
them out.
Set the steering bow to the desired height.
l
Tighten screws (1) and (4) on both sides.

Starting the engine

Danger
!
Exhaust gases are extremely dangerous!
Always ensure an adequate supply of fresh air
when starting and operating in closed rooms
and trenches!

Danger of accident!
Examine the starter rope of the recoil starter
for chafing before starting, replace if neces-
sary. A damaged rope can break and cause in-
juries during starting.
Always hold on to the machine.
Keep your feet away from the tamper plate, be-
cause the vibration starts immediately.
Always keep an eye on a running machine.

Loss of hearing!
Wear your personal noise protection means
(ear defenders) before starting operation.
