When test temperature is reached, unscrew ATF inspection plug
from oil pan.
Caution
An improper ATF level hinders the function of the gearbox.

Checking ATF level and topping up

Test conditions
• Gearbox is not in emergency running mode and ATF temper‐
ature is not above approx. 30 °C.
• Vehicle level.
• Selector lever in „P".
• All electrical consumers and air conditioner must be switched
off.
– Secure reservoir of ATF filling unit -V.A.G 1924- to vehicle.
– Connect »tester« and continue switching until it is ready for
operation ⇒ page 13
– Press
Guided functions
– Then select vehicle, the gearbox and
– Press .
→
– Apply brake.
– Start engine.
– Move selector lever to each position and leave in each position
for 2 seconds. Then move selector lever to„P".
– Raise vehicle.
– Place drip tray under gearbox.
At the checking temperature of 35 °C:
– Remove ATF inspection plug from oil pan.
