Damage or unusual
wear pattern on the
cleaner blade.
Bent or broken
mainframe due to the
cleaner blade slipping
through.

Troubleshooting

Safety instructions

NOTE
The product is exposed to highly different types of bulk materials
and is often deployed in extreme working and environmental con-
ditions. Therefore faults other than those listed here may occur.
In this case, Martin Engineering or one of its representatives can
help with the positioning or with customized solutions. Only use
the conveyor system after the fault has been found and repaired.
Troubleshooting
If, after the installation, there is an abnormally high wear and tear on
the cleaner blade and/or the cleaning efficiency is too low, check the
following points::
Cause
The cleaner is fitted too
tightly on the conveyor belt.
Scraper is installed in the
material flow.
The cleaner is fixed either
too loosely or too tightly on
the conveyor belt.
The cleaner blades are
worn out.
The cleaner is installed too
high on the head pulley and
obstructs the material flow.
Damaged conveyor belt or
joints.
Scraper is installed in the
material flow.
Different tension values of
the tensioner.
Cleaner blade at or beyond
the wear limit.
Main shaft incorrectly
positioned.
Corrective action
Decrease the tension. Refer to Fig.
22, page 28 for the tension values
Install primary cleaner in another
position.
Increase or decrease the tension
accordingly.
Check the cleaner blades and
replace them where necessary.
(See "Weekly maintenance").
Install it in a lower position.
Check the conveyor belt joint(s)
and repair or replace if necessary.
Install primary cleaner in another
position.
Check tension specifications and
retighten if necessary.
Replace the cleaner blade.
Check the position of the main
shaft and correct if necessary.
