The flat panel connects to the VIPer 821 through the J8 Flat Panel connector. A cable must
be designed to tie the panel to the board in accordance to the pinout of both the J8 Flat
Panel connector and the panel connector. The pinout of the flat panel connector is provided
in Appendix D – Connector Pinout.

Signal and power level can be switched from 3.3V to 5V using the W12 jumper.
BIOS Level
Run the BIOS Setup Program, Standard CMOS Setup option to configure the board to support
a flat panel display.
MAKING CONNECTIONS
When designing an application including a flat panel, ensure the video BIOS supports the
panel you have chosen. For more information on flat panels and their connection, please refer

POWER SEQUENCING
The power-on sequencing circuitry is supported onboard to power up and down the flat panel
properly. The power supply lines are available directly on the flat panel connectors (J6 and J8)
and the power level can be selected within 3.3V or 5V using the W12 jumper.
WARNING
It is recommended not to exceed a maximum length of 18" when designing a flat panel cable.
Though some flat panels may support a longer cable, it is the customer's responsibility to
ensure that the additional length is fully supported by the panel's specification.
