2.7 Plugging In Network Cables

To enable the VP9660 to function correctly, connect all GE0 ports in the board front panels to
a gigabit switch.
For service provision, do not connect GE0 or GE1 ports to a hub or a 10 Mbit/s switch.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect one connector of the network cable to the GE0 port in the front panel of the board in
slot 0.
Step 2 Connect the other connector of the network cable to the switch.
Step 3 Repeat

2.8 Connect the ISDN board (Optional)

Context
The DB-36—DB-68 cable is required to connect the ISDN board of VP9660 and Primary
Rate Interface (PRI) cable box.
Base on the connector, the PRI cable box can be classified into two types, including the
75-ohm unbalanced and 120-ohm balanced. There are 32 SMB-75 ohm RF coaxial connectors
(male) on the front panel of the PRI cable box (75-ohm unbalanced), which can be classified
into two sets of ports, namely, DB-1 and DB-2. There are 16 RJ45 connectors on the front
panel of the PRI cable box (120-ohm balanced), which can be classified into four sets of ports,
namely, 4E1-1, 4E1-2, 4E1-3, and 4E1-4.
