Steering Circuit Problems

Problem
The steering is inoperative or sluggish.
• The steering components (e.g., tie rods,
steering cylinder ends) are worn or binding.
• The steering cylinder is binding.
• The fluid level in the hydraulic reservoir is low
(other hydraulic systems are affected as well).
• The steering relief valve (R10) in the steering
control valve is stuck or damaged.
• The steering cylinder leaks internally.
• The steering control valve is worn or
damaged.
• The gear pump section (P3) is worn or
damaged.
Note: A worn or damaged gear pump section
(P3) will also affect the traction (charge) circuit.
