Carefully press the cover onto the lock cylin‐

der until it engages and is seated firmly.

Opening the boot lid
& DANGER Risk of exhaust gas poisoning
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
gases such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
gases can enter the vehicle interior if the
boot lid is open when the engine is running,
especially if the vehicle is in motion.
Always switch off the engine before
#
opening the boot lid.
Never drive with the boot lid open.

* NOTE Damage to the boot lid by obsta‐
cles above the vehicle
The boot lid swings upwards when it is
opened.
Therefore, make sure that there is suffi‐
#
cient clearance above the boot lid.
You have the following options for opening the
boot lid:
Opening and closing
Pull the boot lid handle.

Vehicles with boot lid convenience clos‐
#
ing: with the boot lid stopped in an inter‐
mediate position, pull the boot lid upwards
and release as soon as it begins to open.
Press and hold the p button on the key.
#
Pull boot lid remote operating switch 1.
