Information Objects

A detailed description of the assignment of the information objects to the IOAs is given in the PIXIT
"SICAM_MMU_104_PIXIT_Ax.xls". The PIXIT can be downloaded from http://www.powerquality.de.
SICAM MMU supports the following types of information objects via IEC 60870-5-104:
Indications (MSP) and Commands (CSC)
Measured Values (MMEC)
Bit Strings (MBO)
Energy values/Energy counters (MIT)

Energy Values/Energy Counters

Energy values determined by SICAM MMU are transmitted as energy counters with the IEC 60870-5-104 pro-
tocol using the following ASDU types:
ASDU type 15: Integrated Totals, M_IT_NA
ASDU type 37: Integrated Totals with seven-octet time, M_IT_TB
Transmission is triggered by:
A counter interrogation request from the IEC 60870-5-104 master
Cyclic, spontaneous transmission from the SICAM MMU
(Mode A: Local freeze with spontaneous transmission acc. to "Transmission of Integrated Totals" of
IEC 60870-5-104 Configuration/Interoperability Guide)
All energy counters are added to Request Counter Group 1 so that a counter group 1 request is possible in
addition to a general counter request.
Characteristic of Cyclic Spontaneous Transmission of Energy Counters
The spontaneous transmission of energy counters is effected every minute referred to the absolute time
of the SICAM MMU between 00 s and 01 s. The cycle of 1 min is fixed and cannot be configured.
If the SICAM MMU changes the absolute time due to time synchronization or time resetting, the next spon-
taneous transmission of the energy counters will take place referred to 00 s of the new absolute time.
In each cycle, all energy values are always transmitted as energy counters, even if the energy values have
not changed in the last minute.
You can disable the cyclic spontaneous transmission of the energy counters, see table 7-10.
The sequence number in the counter value telegrams is increased with each cyclic, spontaneous transmission
of energy values.
If communication is interrupted, the energy counters are still read internally every minute. The sequence
number is also increased. After communication has been restored, the next spontaneous transmission takes
place on the next 00 s referred to the absolute time of the SICAM MMU. Only the energy values determined
most recently are then transmitted. The energy values read while communication was interrupted are not buff-
ered for a spontaneous transmission.
Resetting Energy Counters
The energy counters in SICAM MMU are reset via IEC 60870-5-104 as soon as a corresponding command is
issued via this protocol. In this context, it is only possible to reset all energy counters to 0. The energy-counter
reset from the IEC 60870-5-104 master is possible in 2 ways:
