Suppression Head Impulse Test (SHIMP)

When performing a SHIMP test select the default protocol in the Recording menu. The Prepare, Start and
Stop functions are the same as in the impulse tests.

In the SHIMP test the patient is instructed to follow the center laser dot as their head is thrust left or right.
In a healthy subject with normal VOR function, the VOR will be active so the patient will temporarily lose
the target (driving the eyes in the opposite direction to the head movement) and then they will need to
make a corrective saccade to come back to the target.
